Back in early March of this year, NVIDIA officially unveiled the SHIELD set-top box, which runs Android TV. Now, a couple of months later, it’s finally available. Throw down $299.99, though, and you’ll get a SHIELD set-top box with the Pro label and a 500GB built-in storage, plus all of the aforementioned items as well. You’ll also get a copy of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! at no additional cost. Additional SHIELD controllers will run $59.99, while a stand for the set-top box is on offer for $29.99. If you prefer to get a remote that’s voice-enabled, that’ll cost you $49.99. As far as specifications go, you’ll find a NVIDIA Tegra X1 processor along with a 256-core GPU for good measure. It boasts 3GB of RAM, Gigabit Ethernet, a pair of USB 3.0 ports and HDMI out. Android TV offers upwards of 200 games right now, with 20 titles specifically heading to the SHIELD set-top box in the coming months. Do you plan on picking up NVIDIA’s SHIELD?
