After years of requests from users, Nintendo today officially announced that a mobile version of Mario Kart is under development. While specifics remain unclear, the company says the game will be released sometime in the next 13 months… The news of a Mario Kart game for iOS comes following Nintendo’s previous releases of Super Mario Run and Animal Crossing. For years avid Mario Kart fans have wondered why Nintendo was so reluctant to bring Mario Kart to smartphones, but that is seemingly no longer the case....

Nintendo might not have a new system ready to compete with the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X this holiday season, but the company is already thinking about its next console, even though the planned lifespan for the Switch will be longer than anyone expected. Many Nintendo fans were disappointed when the company chose to launch a new game Miitomo for its first move into mobile, rather than the popular Super Mario series. Nintendo has issued a statement refuting the claim that people who purchased a Nintendo Switch within the past month could trade it in for the new system model for free. The battery life of the original Nintendo Switch has been a major point of discussion amongst Nintendo fans who use the system, as some games can quickly burn through the remaining battery power if they are played in portable mode. Mainly, titles such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim have been some of the worst offenders....

Yesterday, Microsoft announced one of the most brutal job cuts ever in the industry, which would see more than 18, 000 people lose their job over the next year. The company also announced that it is shutting down many of its divisions including Xbox Entertainment and Nokia MixRadio. The latter, however, is planning to spin off into a standalone music streaming service rather than go into oblivion. MixRadio’s chief Jyrki Rosenberg has been meeting potential investors who have shown very strong interest in the company....

Nike has updated its Nike+ Running app for iPhone with optimized support for the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus screen sizes as well as integration with Apple’s Health app for iOS 8. The new version takes full advantage of the new iPhones so text and images no longer scale up. Integration with HealthKit means the Nike+ Running app can now add NikeFuel data and workout data to the Health app that comes installed on iOS 8....

Since Linux 2.6.36 went live back in October 2010, the most active contributor to the kernel’s source code has been Samsung. According to an entry obtained from Geekbench, that device is rather a tablet of 13.8 inches with Android 7.0 Nougat OS. With their confirmed specs, we have already heard of so far this combination actually makes even less sense.
